At the beginning of the 16th Century during the Colony of New Spain, the first Royal Customs House of the Pacific Coast was built in Patzcuaro. Declared a Historical Monument, this magnificent edifice represents a gem of the Mexican Colonial architecture. Today this manorial residence houses an intimate boutique hotel, the Hotel Casa de la Real Aduana de Patzcuaro and its Art Centre LaFolia.
